Frank Wills

Frank Wills was an early exponent of Gothic Revival architecture in America and Canada.

A short biography of Frank Wills. He emigrated from the UK to Canada in 1845, and later moved to New York.

Christ Church Cathedral, Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. For more details, click here. Built 1846-53. Frank Wills travelled from England with the new bishop, John Medley. The building was based on the church of Snettisham, Norfolk, England.

Christ Church, Newark, New Jersey. Built 1848-1850, since altered.

House of Prayer, Newark, New Jersey. Built 1850.

Holy Trinity, Nashville. Built 1852.

Christ Episcopal Church and Cemetery, Napoleonville, SE Louisana. Built in 1853, rebuilt after Civil War damage.

St Mary's, Staten Island, New York. Built 1853, since much enlarged.

Trinity Episcopal Church, Mobile, Alabama. Built 1853-4, since moved stone by stone.

St Mary's, Weyanoke, Louisiana. Built 1857. Disused and moving to ruination. Site includes original architect's drawings (see under 'drawings')
