NEWS UPDATE (return to top of page)
28 Feb 2008 Some unexpected delays to Ecclesiology Today (39) but it is being despatched in the first week of March if all goes to plan.
12 Dec 2007 The next issue of Ecclesiology Today (no. 39) is
advancing quickly. No promises, but we hope you will see it relatively
early in the New Year.
24 Nov 2007 We regret that the Society's annual Dykes Bower lecture on contemporary church
buildings has been unavoidably postponed. We will circulate details as
soon as they are available.
3 June 2007 Following the AGM a few days ago, the accounts (draft) and
Annual Report have now been posted on the website. Scroll down the page
to find them.
28 May 2007 Members should have received issue 38 of Ecclesiology Today, focusing on Catholic churches. If any member has not received a copy, could they please send
us an e-mail.
7 Feb 2007 The next issue of Ecclesiology Today (no. 37) is now being
printed. It will be bound next week, then posted. The previous issue
was that of June 2006.
29 September 2006. In early September the Society published a
book on Sir Ninian Comper. If any member did not receive a copy, please
contact us. With this book was a note from Trevor Cooper
explaining that the 2006 conference had been postponed until 2007.
27 April 2006. Members will be have heard that our Hon. Secretary, Dr James Johnston,
died in an accident in mid-March. A memorial service to celebrate his life and achievements was held today, 27 April in the the Wren church of St Magnus the Martyr, in
the City of London. The church was full, and the service was a fitting memorial to our friend and colleague.
The following members of Council attended both as a personal mark of
affection and respect, and on behalf of the Society: Trevor Cooper
(Chairman of Council); Paul Velluet (past Chairman of Council); John
Henman (Hon. Membership Secretary) and Ann his wife; and Keith Lovell.
Other members of the Society present included Kenneth Richardson
(previous Hon. Secretary) and Joan his wife; and our Hon.
Auditor, Mark Ockelton, and Brigid Ockelton, who handles the
Society's publications.
5 April 2006. The delayed January mailing is occupying rather a lot of
our attention. To put the matter in a nutshell, we have hit technical
printing problems in trying to exchange electronic information by a new
method, which hasn't entirely worked, and in not entirely working has
created quite a lot of rework. Our apologies for the delay. No
promises, but an issue of Ecclesiology Today should be with you in May.

Annual reports and accounts
The annual reports and accounts for the past few years are at the bottom of this page - just scroll down.
Subscriptions
For UK members, you can pay subscriptions by standing order or by
cheque. We love those who pay by standing order as it makes our
Treasurer's life so much easier. Roughly three quarters of our members
do. Incidentally, you have complete control over your standing order -
only you can instruct your bank to change it, and you can cancel at any
time.
Subscriptions are due on 1 January each year, paying in advance
for that calendar year. We send out a subscription form with the
January edition of Ecclesiology Today, and that is the time to convert to standing
order, if you are moved to do so.
If you are not sure of your subscription position, send
us an e-mail.
Gift Aid
You can substantially increase the income of the Society without cost
to yourself (so long as you are an income tax payer). By claiming Gift
Aid, we can reclaim from the Inland Revenue 28p in the pound of your
subscriptions, without further action on your part - one form covers
the past and the future. You don't need to enter it on your Tax Return
(though if you are a higher rate taxpayer, you might like to, as you
then receive back from the Revenue the difference between standard and
higher rate tax for the subscription). You can fill in a Gift Aid Form
any time. If you can't remember whether you have done one, then just
fill in and send us another - we will spot the duplication, and it will
do no harm. Here is the Gift Aid form.
Society tie
We produced a Society tie a couple of years ago, but these have now sold out. Sorry.
Essay competiton
The results of our 125th anniversary essay competition were announced in December 2004.
Back publications
We have been reorganising our stock of back publications, and will be
publicising availability soon. In the meantime, you might like to look
at our publications page.

You can contact us by sending
