Dr Digi's image for July 2001 (caption at bottom)
Alding

An extraordinary chair in the chancel of the Anglican St Mary, Aldingbourne, Sussex.
This chair has the rare distinction of being mentioned in Pevsner's Buildings of England:
'As a rule chairs do not go into the Buildings of England, but this is a special chair.
With its very rustically carved emblems, it is certainly Catholic, and certainly outlandish.
Could it come from the Colonies? The date looks early 19th century.'
