Dr Digi's image for August 2004 (caption at bottom)
trumpington

St Mary & St Michael, Trumpington, Cambridgeshire. The brass to Sir Roger de Trumpington, of about 1326.
To see the whole brass at this scale, click here (700k download).
This Sir Roger was grandson of the earlier Sir Roger, who died forty years before.
Earlier writers on brasses assumed that the brass was to the first Sir Roger.
In fact, the brass was orignally made for the second Sir Roger's father, Sir Giles, before his death,
then appropriated for his son at his premature deceasse.
