| There are three distinct opportunities to influence funding on the historic environment, including churches. Everyone who has twenty minutes to spare should do the first one, as it is an opportunity to remind government that there is more to life than the Olympics (if you agree with that view). 1. The Department of Culture, Media and Sport has issued an online questionnaire about lottery funding , inlcuding for heritage (which includes church buildings). It takes about fifteen minutes. You can fill this in as an 'interested individual' if you have no particular stake in lottery funding. This is a crucial opportunity to influence government thinking, whether as a concerned citizen, or as a stakeholder in lottery funding. Deadline: 28 February 2006. More . . . 2. The second is a the Heritage Lottery Fund's consultation on its own future strategy. The deadline is also 28 February 2006. More . . . 3. Finally, there is a select committee investigation into DCMS support for heritage. This is likely to be of interest to organisations rather than individuals. Deadline: Thursday 19 January 2006 More . . . Back to home page |
